On Friday 9th December our school is hosting a "Say No to Crime Forum" run by Youth Pathway Network. As many as ten different schools from the local area will be attending. The forum aims to "encourage public dialogue about youth crime and proposed solutions by discussing why young people engage in crime, the consequences of engaging in crime and how to avoid or cease engaging in crime.
Forum Panellists include:
- Jason Donnelly, Criminal Barrister and Lecturer-in-Law at Western Sydney University
- David Saliba, Former Federal Agent at Australian Federal Police,
- Rose Khlalilizadeh, Criminal Solicitor at NSW Legal Aid and formerly Aboriginal Legal Service
- Tony Hoang, former Drug Dealer and Gang Member turned Chaplain, Youth Mentor, Educator and Pastor
- A representative from NSW Police and A representative from Corrective Services NSW (not confirmed)
