On Wednesday the 1st of June 8 of our Aboriginal students attended Ashcroft High School's annual Reconciliation Ceremony. This ceremony celebrates the rich heritage and culture of Indigenous Australia and promotes the notion of healing from the past wrongs and injustices experienced by Indigenous Australians and working together to ensure that we learn from those and move forward as a united Australia. Our students were lucky enough to celebrate alongside Ashcroft High School and learn more about there culture. Thank you to the staff and students of Ashcroft High School for allowing us to share in their special day.
Quote by a student
'I loved going to Ashcroft High school on Wednesday to see their Reconciliation Ceremony. It was so good. I very much liked the cultural dances that the Ashcroft boys and girls did and also the students who spoke about Aboriginal Culture. I also liked the food they provided for us and the others who attended'.
