On Wednesday evening Fairfield High School held its first Year 6 Welcome Dinner. In true Fairfield style, we had parents that were early and a couple that were fashionably late.
It was great to see the smiles on our new parents' faces and the shyness, albeit shortlived, of our soon to be Year 7 students. All up, well over one hundred parents with Year 6 students, staff and our very own students attended the evening.
Ms Pyne our Year 6 Adviser was amazing. She organised a very successful wonderful evening that opened the doors and heart of Fairfield High School and gave all present a taste of the talent, passion and excellence that is Fairfield. Public Speaking, Our Faces Our Stories Student Leader address, creative performers and even Care Code coloured balloons...you made FHS shine.
Special thanks to TAS and especially Mr Heffernan. The food you and your hospitality kids prepared was beautiful, plentiful and parents sang its praises in between mouthfuls. Our special baristas were busy as the aroma of coffee filled the hall throughout the night. Thank you for your ceaseless support.
Ms Lykourezos, your performers were brilliant and entertained us all. Is it time for a Fairfield High School Musical? Thanks for your time in preparing the performers.
Thanks to CAPA...for setting up the art display in the hall...We had a parent requesting to buy some of the pieces...she settled for a photo... & Mr Honyak for helping set up sound and equipment.
Ms Bryce and your professional SRC...the students welcomed and mingled with the guests and did a great job of MCing the evening.
And finally, to all the FHS staff who attended the Dinner, nights such us these are successful because of your support and involvement.
