Not only do we have cooler weather and hail this afternoon, today at FHS we broke last Term's record of the number of parents attending the P&C Forum.
You may recall that we had just over 70 parents attend the forum in Term 4. Today, thanks to the marketing and publishing of the event by our wonderful CEO, CLO, and IEC interpreters, we had 124 parents in attendance.
Lots if questions were raised by parents regarding uniform, fees and, especially with the hot weather, the lack of air-conditioning in classrooms.
Parents also expressed interest in hearing about the different pathway options available to students, especially gaining entry into universities. They also were keen to learn about what HSC marks are needed to gain entry. This will be one of the focuses at the next P&C Forum in Week 8.
Our parents obviously have high aspirations for their children that they have entrusted to us at Fairfield High School. They know that their child needs to work hard, even extra hard considering their non-English speaking backgrounds, to do well and succeed at school. By having open and strong communication with our parents, which is facilitated by events or forums like the one Deb Edwards organised today, we are better able to collaboratively realise the potential of our students.
