Vaccination will take place on Mar 9. All year 7 students will be offered the following
• Human Papillomavirus vaccine (HPV) o This vaccine provides protection for girls and boys against a virus which could lead to a range of cancers and disease later in life.
• Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine o An important adolescent booster dose for all Year 7 students.
• Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine o As a catch-up for students who have not had chickenpox or a previous Varicella vaccine.
Students cannot be vaccinated at school unless a completed and signed consent form is returned to the school.
If your child misses a dose of vaccine at school we will catch-up that dose at the next visit. You will be sent an SMS text message advising you that any missed vaccines will be caught up at the next school visit.
Further information will be provided in Parent Information Packs and is also available in many languages at here
A record of vaccination will be given to your child at the time of each vaccination. Please keep these for your records and provide a copy to your local doctor. Please note that these vaccinations are provided free only while your child is in year 7 (or for any HPV catch-up vaccinations in Year 8).
On the day of the school vaccinations please ensure:
- that your child has had breakfast.
- that your child returns the consent form.
- that a parent is contactable.
