Year 7 students have begun their journey using the MathsPathway learning model, which includes the engagement in Rich Tasks during Mathematics Lessons. on Thursday 22/02/18, 7Y created challenges for each other by making rules for sets of three numbers.
Students needed to think of a rule for three numbers, such as "the three numbers need to get bigger as they go" or "the last two numbers need to be 1 apart", and then give the group and example of three numbers that work with that rule.
Other students then guessed groups of three numbers and the leader would say whether they worked with the rule or not. It was then the responsibility of the other students to guess the rule.
Some of the rules from students included "the numbers must add up to 15" or "all three numbers are between 5 and 12".

The MathsPathway learning model has been made available to students at Fairfield High School thanks to the generous sponsorship support of SC Johnson via charity group SchoolsPLUS.
