TAS (Technology and Applies Studies)

The TAS staff at Fairfield High School are continually revising and updating teaching and learning programs to better cater for the diverse range of learning needs of our students with a strong emphasis targeting literacy, numeracy, cultural inclusivity and High Potential and Gifted Education.

The TAS staff have a strong commitment to ensuring that the needs of all students are met. As Head Teacher, my philosophy is that every student is entitled to receive a quality education, regardless of ethnicity, gender, or socio-economic status.

The integration of ICT across numerous subjects in 2021 will provide opportunities for students to not only develop digital literacy skills, but also become competent, creative, and ethical users of ICT. These programs promote critical and creative thinking skills as well as digital literacy.

Teaching and learning in TAS is all about supporting our students to not only have the technical knowledge of a subject, but also have the capacity to develop the practical skills necessary to transition to either higher education or other pathways, such as work.
